CNY Implant Study Group Schedule

All study group sessions are held at the Yahnundasis Golf Club from 6-9PM in New Hartford.

March 7th, 2018
Brian J Jackson, DDS, Implant Reconstruction of the Edentulos Patient. “The Overdenture Approach”

The edentulous population will continue to increase over the next decades. Implant overdentures are a cost effective approach to restore hard and soft tissue as well as teeth. The program will focus on research, Tx plan considerations, surgical and prosthetic protocols. Case reports will illustrate the treatment modality.

Learning Objectives
  • Understand the science, advantages and treatment for overdenture.
  • Develop surgical/prosthetic protocols for successful treatment.
  • Comprehend the treatment plan and considerations prior to the initiation of treatment.

Guest Speaker: Bruce Stewart, DDS  – Oneida, NY, The Digital Approach to Implant Placement and Restoration
3 CE Hours

June 6th, 2018
Brian J Jackson, DDS, Diagnostic and Clinical Evaluation for the Fixed-Detachable Prosthesis

The fixed detachable prosthesis has become a predictable treatment option. The diagnosis and clinical evaluation are critical prior to the initiation of the surgical phase. This presentation will emphasize the diagnostic, raiographic and clinical protocols need ed for a successful patient outcome.

Learning Objectives
  • Learn critical anatomical and aesthetic zones to evaluate prior to treatment.
  • Learn alternative radiographic templates for CBCT and 2D protocols to perform prior to the active stage of treatment.

Guest Speaker: Linda Boehm, DMD  – Oneida, NY, Update On Anestheology and Specialty Status by Credentialing Boards
3 CE Hours

September 12th, 2017
Brian J Jackson, DDS, Maxillary Sinus Augmentation “The Conventional Approach”

Success rates are the lowest in the posterior maxilla. Establishing an osseous foundation that is stable enhances outcomes. The conventional sinus augmentation approach is critical when bone is minimal. The presentation will discuss anatomy, tx plan consideration and protocols of the maxillary sinus augmentation.

Learning Objectives
  • Learn critical anatomical and aesthetic zones to evaluate prior to treatment.
  • Learn alternative radiographic templates for CBCT and 2D protocols to perform prior to the active stage of treatment.

Guest Speaker: Samuel Barr, DMD  – Oneida, NY, Design and Print Your Own Surgical Guide
3 CE Hours

November 7th, 2017
Brian J Jackson, DDS, Prosthetic Reconstruction of the Edentulos Patient “The Anatomical and Socioeconomic Factor”

Treatment options presented to the patient are based on several factors, among them being time and costs. Imaginative treatment planning on quality and quantity of bone, biochemical as well as costs can develop long term treatment success.
Learning Objectives
  • Treatment plan edentulous patients based on existing anatomy and socioeconomic concerns.
  • Evaluate different implant designs and types for specific case selection.
  • Understand prosthetic and surgical protocols through case presentation.

Guest Speaker: Vincent Velia, DDS  – Rochester, NY, Osseodentifcation – A Novel Biomechanical Bone Preparation Technique
3 CE Hours

“I was very excited to hear that Dr. Brian J. Jackson has formed the CNY Implant Study Group-AAID Study Club in his immediate area. By joining this study club, your patients and practice will benefit from your increased knowledge and expertise in the field of implant dentistry. What an opportunity for you to learn from experienced implant lectures and leading manufacturers locally, while receiving AGD/CERP approved continuing credits.”
